I had a “holy-shit-moment” today about money.
It’s a long while ago, that I was not expecting a feeling of security from money in the bank, nor any kind of feeling for that matter. It’s simply because I saw that no “thing” can make me feel in a certain way, only thought taking form in the moment in the space of my consciousness.
So that was done and dusted, but something was missing, I could feel it.
…
What I realized is what money really is.
It’s a master currency, that enables us to exchange personal assets in an easy way.
Now, that sounds very brainy, so let me walk you through the whole train of thought that occurred to me today.
I have personal assets, and those are the following “things”:
- my personal expertise in certain things (currently I’m using the most the ones, that directly related to coaching)
- my time
- my effort
In the same time I have the need to have other assets, partially to keep on living, partially to be able to produce more of my personal assets. For example:
- Food and water
- Electricity and gas
Moreover, I have whims, I desire certain assets, even if they are not necessary for my survival, such as:
- New, pretty clothes
- Tickets to dance classes
- A good cup of coffee
And so on.
Now.
What money does, is making it EASY for me to be able to EXCHANGE my already existing personal assets to the ones I don’t have but need or for the ones that I desire to have just for funsies.
Just thinking of the scenario of trying to pay with deep listening (one of my expertise as a coach) for a bag of potato in the grocery store makes me giggle.
That is what money is for.
It’s a universal currency, so I don’t need to search for a potato-owner who would like to have a profound transformation in their life to be able to have dinner.
How ducking awesome is that?
…
Now.
My most valuable personal assets are my presence, my curiosity and my creativity. And I have infinite amount of those.
I’m sitting in an unspeakable abundance of personal asset.
And I’m free to convert as much as I see fit into the universal currency: aka money.
…
My thought for you for take-away:
What is better than printing money is KNOWING what money really is.
A tool.
That makes it easy for you to exchange goodies.
Nothing more, but nothing less.
…
Big hugs,
Andi.
